The second feeding round begins—and the product name is corrected
Kharif 2026
The second soil top-dressing round began in the banana planting area. The mixture totalled 100 g of fertiliser product per plant: 40 g urea, 40 g muriate of potash (MOP) and 20 g APS 20:20:0:13, placed to the sides in two holes.
We first called the phosphate component DAP, then corrected it to APS. The product name matters: the two have different compositions, and the manufacturer’s standing-crop caution for the APS grade is discussed in the feeding chapter.
September had already disrupted feeding. Saturated ground delayed soil fertiliser on 7 September; the first soil round began on the 19th and was complete by the 22nd update. Rain on the 24th then made the planned irrigation unnecessary.
